What a great day of literacy and fun!
The kiddos got a tour of the Buffalo & Erie County Central Library! While there, they saw a character education themed juggling show where they got to juggle feathers and scarves! Next we made very unique bookmarks and ate lunch.
After that, we walked 2 blocks to the WNY Book Art Center where the kids learned about letterpress and got to press their own poster on the 89 year old machine named Olga! Then we went upstairs and learned how to make origami books!
Finally, we walked back to the bus by the library. During the walk, we learned about the different styles of architecture that surrounded us and we noticed the different attributes of an urban downtown area.
I think the children will fall asleep early tonight! What a wonderful day of literacy!
