The old way of sharing reference information with students was to buy pre-created posters from a Teacher Store and plaster our walls with them like wall paper. The fact is that students did not look at them; therefore, they were a waste of perfectly good wall space, time, and money. The new way of sharing information with students is by developing anchor charts with student assistance. This way, they will have investment in the poster and also understand it. This means that they are more likely to refer to it when they need help regarding that topic. Each anchor chart works towards addressing identified learning goals. They are colorful and contain pictures as well as graphic organizers. These are tools that can aid students in becoming more independent students.
Below are a few of the charts that we developed together this year!
Reading
Writing
Math
Social Studies

This isn’t an anchor chart but we will create some throughout the year! This showcases student work: Occupation A-Z!
