We learned all about the roles and duties of mayors, governors, and presidents. To make the content conceptual and to bring it to life, we went on the campaign trail! Students wrote speeches and made campaign posters. Students read their speeches aloud in the auditorium and the cafeteria. Then we had a private election with official ballots. We tallied the votes and formed our class government!
Students desks are in the following formation:
- The Presidential Party (President and V.P.) in a group
- There are 6 cities (4 students in each city) where each city has a mayor.
- Every 2 cities makes a state where each state has a governor.
The government officials have special duties around the room. We had so much fun doing this!
